January has been a good reading month. Let's delve straight in to the book reviews. Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier Since becoming fascinated by Hitchcock's 1940 film adaptation of Rebecca, I've always meant to get around to reading the novel. And it did not disappoint. The sea, a mysterious dead wife, mad people and Maxim's … Continue reading January Wrap Up: Gothic, Poetry and Self Help
Let's Band Against Cancer 👊 to help @clicsargent support more young people with cancer! 💪 When I was diagnosed with leukaemia last year, the support I received from CLIC Sargent made a huuuge difference. They helped me communicate with my university, provided me with financial resources and even made sure I was able to go to an Ed Sheeran concert in between treatment. Bands Against Cancer are available for a suggested £2 donation at @morrisons shops, Wetherspoons and select @hsamueljeweller shops. Buying a band is a really easy way to make a difference and support young people with cancer for #worldcancerday (4th of February!)
Gotta love when your tame suburban neighborhood surprises you with a beaut sunset 😍 and makes you feel like you might actually be living in a gothic werewolf story 🐺🔮📖💕 Tbh, moving back to my hometown has been *an adjustment*. I lost so much independence last year being ill and I'm having to slowly rebuild my confidence... So I'm looking forward to new horizons and more exotic sunsets... But for now I'll take this one 🌇🌇🌇
⭐ 4 months of hair growth ⭐ When I had no hair during chemo I used to scroll through the #chemohair hashtag a fair bit. It was (mostly) helpful to see people recovering and looking great with short hair. Even the tiniest, fluffiest hair regrowth feels like starting to get your health back. Anyway, here's my contribution to the hashtag 💖 P.s. I *completely* get the desperation to get your hair back after chemo but, if you can help it, please don't fork out for expensive hair growth products. Cancer is expensive enough without feeling pressured to spend £50+ on products that might not work. Rates of hair growth depend on many individual factors, so be skeptical if someone claims their hair growth is all due to a product.

Happy New Year! ⭐ I find it strange how unrepresentative this supposed #best9 is (particularly as I've posted a lot of #throwback pics). I guess that sums up social media 😂 This year I survived cancer and discovered mindfulness and poetry.
