8 Ways to Read More

Many people, myself included, love to read but don't read as much as we would like to. Life can get in the way and, before we know it, we've stopped making time for reading. This could be for a week, a month or even a year. Want to know how to read more? These 8 … Continue reading 8 Ways to Read More

18 Things I’ve Learnt In 2018

Instead of making new year resolutions, I decided to put my list making urges to a different (less pressure inducing) purpose. Here are 18 things I've learnt in 2018.

Four Books To Soothe Your Soul

I've taken a long blogging hiatus because of illness, which I will go into in another blog post. For now, I'll take you through some books that have really soothed me this past year and have made the perfect books to read before bed. To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han After … Continue reading Four Books To Soothe Your Soul

April Reads: Fantasy, Realism and Some Poetry

As I've not been updating this blog lately, I have lots of books (and thoughts) I'm dying to share. For now, here's a quick overview of my current reads. I have three good books on the go right now, so let's dive in... Hot Milk by Deborah Levy This one had been on my radar … Continue reading April Reads: Fantasy, Realism and Some Poetry

Why my TBR is chill

I see a lot of book blogs and YouTube videos about TBR (To Be Read) lists. And, whilst I enjoy reading and watching them, I don't tend to make TBRs myself. I'm someone who puts a lot of pressure on myself and can fall into the trap of measuring my value by my productivity. And … Continue reading Why my TBR is chill

Festive llama says vote out the tories 🗳🗳🗳🗳
Who else thinks lots about why they do things, and whether the intention behind them is positive or negative... and wonders if some things (like social media) they do by default rather than because they are actively fulfilling, helpful or meaningful activities? #decemberthoughts #meta #aninstagramcaptionthatknowsitsaninstagramcaption #metainstagram #socialmedia #voteinthegeneralelection
My high-pony-tail-in-a-scrunchy has returned and with it comes my full power . (Jk obviously hairstyles don't really form the basis of any quality or personality trait... see the problem is with me I make a joke then instantly suck the fun out of it by analysing its connotations) 📸@alasdair_gerrard
Some people may have noticed I'm sharing my birthday with a general election this year. 12th of December, get it in your diaries and vote! 🗳 It's definitely too early to be asking for early birthday presents, but please please make sure you are registered to vote. If you have recently moved address or you're not 100% sure you're registered, register again just to be on the safe side. And remind people in your life to do the same! Sorry for the preachy message but all I really want for my birthday is to live in a county where the NHS isn't being privatised and people aren't being forced to live in poverty and rely on food banks to survive and leaders are doing something about climate change (I could go on). But pls pls pls double check you're registered and add 'VOTE!!' to your calendar/diary for the 12th of December. ❤️
News! I have a new job, after many months of searching. And I'm looking forward to it too. Yay! 📒 Even though I know lots of recent grads struggle to find work, not having a job (besides a tiny remote one and some freelance bits) has made me feel quite stuck. This new job feels like a meaningful way I can move forward in life after last year's setback. 💚
Books set by the seaside are often associated with summer holiday poolside reads... 🌊 But tbh my favourite sea-themed books aren't summery at all (and some are dystopian hellscapes🙃). Plus I love a blustery beach walk out-of-season. 👌 P.s I just published a new blog recommending my favourite sea-themed books (a link is in my bio).
